Dear Intercon Friends, Mabuhay and warmest greetings from your Ruby Reunion Committee in Manila! We have resumed our monthly meetings this year as we get closer to January 2010 and we are getting there as we have finalized the major events on January 8 and 9. The January 8 brunch will now be at the InterContinental at the combined Le Boulevardier and Gambrinus (now called Legaspi Room) and the Gala Dinner at the Bahia on the 14th floor. This e-newsletter is new and is meant to make communication with everyone easier. Thanks to the ad and PR firm of Jeannette Reyes (HIM ’86-‘89) who designed the format and will manage the content. You will read about the activities for the 2-day event, the tireless and passionate people behind the committees, photos and anecdotes that you contribute, information about Manila and resorts those coming from overseas may want to visit pre or post reunion. The stalwarts at the meetings are Marissa Aquino (’78-‘87/’89-‘97), Melva Nath ( ‘73-‘92 ), Sylvia Araneta (’83-‘89), Ichi Martinez-Yabut (’82-‘90), Cora Pacheco (‘69-‘91),Grace Camagay (’78-‘03), Bubu Maristela (’80-‘00), Pat Puyat-Palanca ( ’92-‘01), Jeannette Reyes (’86-’89) and are joined by Sunshine Robles (’78-‘01), Vickie Perez De Tagle (’79-‘83),Gee Mayuga (’85-‘89 ), Lina Solis (’85-’89) Jessie Sincioco (1983-1990) and all the way from the US of A, Lyn Hamilton. Carmita Francisco is helping with the Club Mwah night and Edu Jarque (‘72-‘77), now the honorable Undersecretary of Tourism will certainly pitch in. Imagine the excitement during the gatherings – the ideas spewing forth, the catching ups, the reminiscing, the anticipation of meeting old friends and colleagues and you’ll get a vision of what it will be like when we all see each other in January. Therefore, your indication of attendance is of highest importance to enable us to plan the events and negotiate prices and amenities. There is a box for registration and we enjoin everyone to check your participation. There are four (4) main events: Jan. 8 Welcome Brunch at Intercon and Club Mwah Cocktails and Show; Jan. 9 I ntramuros: If the Walls Could Talk Tour and Lunch and the Grand Ruby Dinner-Dance at Intercon. There are other interesting and exciting information about the reunion and a memorabilia corner to fan the flames of nostalgia. Enjoy reading them.
